A Winter Hiatus and A Belated New Years Resolution

Dear Readers,

Happy New Year Readers! It has been a while hasn’t it?

My Winter Blogging Hiatus

As it happens, my more recent posts have had the habit of apologizing for delays or extended absences. The last few months were hard, but a belated resolution screams to me: no more excuses about the blogging. On the other hand, a busy schedule screams not to take on more than I can handle. I certainly will not be a post-a-day blogger for some time. I do eventually hope to get there, but I am fully aware of the season I am in, and it isn’t that one.

Now that I have had my winter hiatus to catch up on some things, I plan to be a monthly poster. I am better at making many post upfront and then timing them over the month, rather than a few post each week. So that is my goal to better serve my readers, who truly deserve to follow a blog where the blogger is blogging.

I have, however, been working on my book. After completely revising an old draft and deleting astronomical chunks of it, I have settled on a draft and can now just writing. I plan to work on that with some sort of regularity too, wherever I can manage it. Likely, at least, for a specific time period a week. My muse is too wacky to allocate a number of pages or chapters; allocation of time better suits me.

Anyway, I am glad to be back, and plan on staying for a while.

A New Year Resolution

(And that is really all that needs to be said.)

Sure they say, be specific, set times, write it down, etc, etc. But what do they know? It is not the process that needs to change, it is the mindset. Even if someone suddenly starts writing resolutions down, detailing second by second, or even ripping it up and throwing it into a fire for a good omen, nothing is going to change if they do not make up their mind to change it.  As they also say, actions speak louder than words. So I will be simplifying my life while they waste time trying to over-exercise (what I consider) an outdated method.

Adieu, Scribbler

food that provoked me: not currently eating, but recently had salted pasta and seasoned chicken songs that inspired me: I have taken a break from music for the moment, so perhaps the wonderful sound of silence inspired this.
